33 Weeks of Lesson Plans

Not sure what to say or how to introduce letters and their sounds? No problem! Our detailed lesson plans give you prompts to make it simple and easy for teachers and parents!

Phonological and Phonemic awareness exercises along with a materials list needed for each lesson so you know what to pull from the included resources to make your lesson run smoothly.

Scaffolding and extending the lesson to meet the needs of your student(s) has never been easier with our included suggestions for each.

The Alpha Dogs™

Meet Ace and Carter, The Alpha Dogs™! Your littles will love learning the letters and their sounds alongside their new furry best friends!

The Alpha Dogs™ have letter chants for each letter that follow a simple tune so your little one learns through play and song.

They also bring to life their included read-aloud for each letter with real images so your little one stays engaged in learning sounds and words associated with those sounds while associating them with everyday items found in their daily lives.

Extension Activities

Take your lessons even deeper with included home connections for each week of lessons. These can be sent home by classroom teachers to help parents keep the learning going!

Parents who homeschool can use these to extend their learning and provide even more engaging activities to help their young learners build a strong reading foundation.

These activities are simple but powerful and don't require a lot of prep, making them easy to implement yet effective.

No-Prep Printables

You are busy with ALL THE THINGS on your to-do list! We have included, no-prep, print-and-go activities that will help you give your learner additional review for skills you are teaching in each lesson.

Work Mats Make Teaching Simple and Engaging

When teaching in small groups or 1:1 with your young learner, you want tools you can use to model the lesson and have your students practice what you are teaching. With these mats, you can laminate them, slip them into page protector sleeves, or dry-erase pockets and have students use them over and over in your lessons.

Alliteration and Beginning Sounds Work Mats and Hands-On Sorting

Have your student use the mats to practice letter recognition, sounds, and listening for the beginning sounds. Then have students use the picture sort as a hands-on learning activity.

Letter Recognition, Letter Sounds, and Letter Formation Work Mats

Students can use these mats to practice proper letter formation and stroke practice. Have them trace them with their finger, build with dough, or use a dry erase marker. Students can also use tools like counters to find and cover the letters in the bubbles.

Letter Formation Color-Coded Stroke Teaching Mats

Some young learners may not be ready to hold a pencil. These work mats are designed to allow students to practice letter formation by tracing with their finger, using dough in the three colors to build the letters and more!

Set The Stage for Young Writers' Success

Helping your little ones learn the proper strokes for each letter is a small but mighty step in the writing process. PFA™ provides the tools you need to help your young learners develop handwriting skills.

Meet the Teachers Behind This Amazing Curriculum

picture of farrah

Farrah Henley

Hi! My name is Farrah Henley, founder and CEO of Farrah Henley Education. I have been an elementary educator (former homeschooling mom) for over 25 years. I am passionate about teaching little learners to read and giving them the skills necessary to build a strong foundation for reading success. That starts with a strong foundation in Phonics.

Since 1996, I have used explicit phonics instruction in teaching my children and then my students to read. Over the years, explicit phonics instruction has been repackaged into catchy new phrases like ‘science of reading', but at its core, it has remained the same. I have completed the Reading Academy training from the State of Texas to maintain my active teaching certificate and am now passionate about supporting my daughter to start the homeschooling process with my granddaughter this fall!

This curriculum was designed with her in mind, and she will use it (scaffolded, of course) to start the learning process through play with my 2-year-old granddaughter! This curriculum is the culmination of over 30 years of teaching experience with teaching phonics in PreK-2nd grade.

I know that the work and expertise that myself and my team have put into it is going to help you create a strong foundation for your little learner(s).

Abbigail Caldwell

Hey there! I'm Abbigail Caldwell, and I'm thrilled to meet you! I'm a proud graduate of Baylor University, where I earned my degree in Elementary Education and ESL.

For four amazing years, I had the privilege of teaching some incredible kindergartners and second graders. They truly helped me fulfill my passion for teaching reading foundations. They led me to develop various curriculums to help other teachers and homeschooling families set a strong foundation for their beginning readers.

In 2021, I completed the Reading Academy training from the State of Texas and the science behind explicit phonics instruction! With those skills, I helped develop this amazing curriculum and know that it will provide your littles with a strong foundation in reading.

Maranda Bullington

Hey there! I'm Maranda, and I'm thrilled to meet you. I hold a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, and I'm always keeping my license updated with the latest evidence-based training. One of my passions is the Science of Reading and Dyslexia Intervention, which allows me to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

I had the amazing opportunity to teach first grade for three years in the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado. During that time, phonics instruction became a big part of my professional training. I loved helping my students master the foundations of reading and language!

Even when I'm not in the classroom, my enthusiasm for education doesn't stop. I'm constantly using my professional development to craft engaging and efficient learning activities that children find truly exciting. It brings me so much joy to see them grow, learn, and reach their full potential.

Our Phonics for All™ Curriculum: Pre-K is designed to be used with Pre-K and Transitional K classrooms. However, the skills are basic alphabetic and phonics skills that can be used in preschool classrooms and homeschool classrooms with learners who are ready to begin learning the alphabet and basic phonics skills. Currently, Farrah's own granddaughter (2 years old) will begin using it in the fall. Lessons will be scaffolded to her developmental level and will be repeated during her 3 year old year. This curriculum could be used for three year olds in preschool and again in pre-kindergarten to build a strong foundation before moving on to our PFA™: Kindergarten level.

All three of our teachers are trained in science of reading strategies and have taken those strategies and principles and paired them with their over 30 years of combined experience to develop this curriculum. As our Phonics For All™ Curriculum line grows with Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade coming soon, more of the Science of Reading strategies will emerge. Our curriculum will prepare your young learners for these strategies as they enter kindergarten and beyond.

Our hands-on centers for this curriculum are being created now and will be added each week. They are expected to be completed in January 2024 but we will be adding them as they are complete (at least once a week).

Our hands on centers included in the bonus are made both printable and digital for Google Slides™ and Boom Cards™.

This purchase is for digital files, NOT A HARD GOOD! Therefore, nothing will be shipped to your home. You will receive an email with login credentials where you can log in and download files for you to print using whatever method you choose.

These files may be printed on a home computer using basic card stock for teaching tools (laminate for durability) and regular copy paper for printables. While we recommend printing the posters, phonics cards, and other teaching tools in full color, they can be printed with black ink only. We recommend using only white paper for printing in black & white as some of the images won't look as clean on colored paper.
